Terms of Service

Acceptance
By accessing or using Backlog Shuffle ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The Service is operated by Seimeis LLC. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use the Service.
The Service
Backlog Shuffle is a web application that connects to your Steam account and helps you decide what game to play from your library. Features include library shuffling, mood and time filters, play streak tracking, and — for Pro subscribers — pinning games, detailed progress stats, and automatic nightly library syncs.
The Service is provided "as is". We make reasonable efforts to keep it available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that all features will be available at all times.
Your Account
You sign in using your Steam account via Valve's OpenID service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Steam account. We are not responsible for any unauthorised access to your Backlog Shuffle account resulting from a compromised Steam account.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or the minimum age required in your country). By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to circumvent, exploit, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure
- Use automated tools to scrape, bulk-request, or stress-test the Service
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Free Accounts and Usage Limits
Backlog Shuffle offers a free tier subject to specific usage limits, such as maximum library size, which are detailed on our website or pricing page. We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time. Legacy accounts established prior to certain changes may, at the sole discretion of Seimeis LLC, be grandfathered into previous limitations.
Backlog Shuffle Pro
Subscription Plans
Backlog Shuffle Pro is available as a monthly plan ($5/month) or an annual plan ($30/year). Prices are in USD and subject to change with reasonable notice.
Billing & Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You authorise us to charge your payment method on file via Stripe. If payment fails, we will attempt to retry and may downgrade your account to the free tier if payment cannot be collected.
Cancellation
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time via the customer portal (Settings → Manage Billing). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to Pro features until then. We do not offer partial-period refunds unless required by law.
Refunds
Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days at [email protected] and we will review your request.
Service and Feature Changes
We reserve the right to add, modify, limit, or remove features of the Service—including free tier limitations and Pro features—at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify Pro subscribers of significant changes ahead of time and will not remove core features without adequate notice.
Third-Party Services
Backlog Shuffle integrates with third-party services including Valve/Steam, Stripe, PostHog, and Resend. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
Game data (titles, cover images, playtime estimates) comes from Steam. We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of this data.
Intellectual Property
The Backlog Shuffle name, logo, and original content are owned by Seimeis LLC. Game names, artwork, and related assets belong to their respective rights holders. Nothing in these terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or intellectual property without prior written consent.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seimeis LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If we make material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify Pro subscribers via email.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Seimeis LLC is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
